Insufficient Funds

Am I not sufficient?
               Fulfilling, Satisfying?
Am I not attractive?
              Beautiful, Pretty?
Am I not intelligent?
              Clever, Sharp?
Am I not funny?
              Comical, Hilarious?
Am I not kind?
              Thoughtful, Considerate?
Am I not humble?
              Modest, Unpretentious?

Perhaps,
              I am not any
Because you inject me with the feeling that
              I am not plenty

Artificial Bae

Unable to breath
My heart clenched in your palm
Such a beautiful hurt
In a time all wrong

A master of hours
I wish it were me
It is you
For whom my heart beats

To the rhythm of a song
All its own
With a cadence unmatched
I'm left alone

I have created in my mind
A man who in time
Would requite a divine love
A divine love like mine

That which parallels
The immensely intense
Unadulterated love
That I've felt ever since

Let's Talk About It

Let's talk about the beef
Let's talk about the streets
Let's talk about the grief
Let's talk about the bleak

Let's talk about all the things that these people never see

Let's talk about the pain
Let's talk about the strain
Let's talk about the gain
Let's talk about the strange

Let's talk about the things that we say we're going to change

Let's talk about destruction
Let's talk about corruption
Let's talk about production
Let's talk about reconstruction

Let's talk about all the ways that we as a people can function

Let's Talk About It

False Security

If I could turn back the hours
I'd turn it to three
To a place in time
When my heart was complete

My heart was full
And your love was a drag
It was some of the best dope
I had ever had

But chaos and confusion
both ensued
It soon became clear
I was being abused

As your bag lady
I had allowed it
I took you on that high
I was your pilot

While coming down
As we made our descent
It was increasingly clear
It was you I resent

So, unto you I
Bid my fairest farewell
For it was you that waged war
May you burn in hell
